Throwback Thursday: Silver Borne

Meme hosted by Melissa My World in Words and Pages. It's about books that are already on the shelves and are waiting to be read. Go to her website to join in!

My submission:

Silver Borne
Mercy Thompson #5
by Patricia Briggs
Being a mechanic is hard work. Mercy Thompson, for instance, just spent the last couple of months trying to evade the murderous queen of the local vampire seethe. And now the leader of the werewolf pack, who's maybe-more-than-just-a-friend, has asked for her help. A book of fae secrets has come to light and they're all about to find out how implacable - and dangerous - the fae can be.
OK, so maybe her troubles have nothing to do with the job. But she sure could use a holiday...

Okay, I got this one because it was a harback for only $3! I still need to get and read Iron Kissed and Bone Crossed. Yes, I'm very behind but have more motivation to get going on the series.

So any you bought because you couldn't refuse a good sale? :)

  1. It's shameful to say, really, but I bought four copies of one my favourite books, Many Waters, when it was on sale for $3 because I keep wearing out the cover from re-reading it too much ;) that's fandom for you haha

    1. I know! I also love the Dan Dos Santos covers, so I had to have. :)

  3. I don't know why, perhaps because of the mix of vampires, werewolf packs and fae, but despite the lead character being a mechanic and not a waitress this kind of puts me in mind of the Sookie Stackhouse/True Blood series.

    1. I see what you mean, but for me, it's a whole different kind of world.

  4. I love this series so much Melissa! I'm behind as well though, I've read this one, but I haven't read River Marked. Have you read about Charles and Anna? I really like them as well.

  5. Oh, I'm bad when it comes to a good sale. I love finding things that I've been wanting...that's always great. I go to my local library book sales a lot though, and that's when I often get into a bit of trouble! haha

    1. I always squee and then curse. Usually because I don't always expect to find thing. We have a library book store that I am forbidden to go into a lot. I wonder why... LOL

  6. Ooh I loved this one! The whole series is amazing and Iron Kissed is still my favorite, but Silver Borne has a special place in my heart because I love Sam's part in the story. Mercy and Adam are always awesome, of course, but I feel like this was Sam's book. Hope you enjoy it!

  10. I will sadly admit I have never read a Briggs book :( I need to get on board huh? lolz
I love your "Bad Rap" sticker. I have a Pitt named Bella (Bella-Boo) and she is the BEST doggy.EVER. Except for my Chihuahua Hercules ;)
Both were found on the streets as strays. I am so happy they are in my life, heart, and home now.
I like your site a lot. A lot of fab books reviewed.

  11. Oh, I just LOVED this one! Not as good as Book 3 or 4, but it had some EXCELLENT parts. Book 6 is sadly not up to the mark, but I'm hoping to start Book 7 soon which I hope is back to the usual caliber.

  12. I adored this book, Mel! It's quite possibly my favorite of the series (I've read them all. C&A too). As Lauren pointed out, Sam has a pretty big role in this one and I adored it.
I wish I was behind, at least I'd have something to look forward to.

  13. I have all the books in the series but I've only read book one. It's scary how many books I want to read that I'll probably never get to.

I'm sure it would be helpful if I didn't buy anymore. lol
