My submission:

Hunted by the Others
H&W Investigations #1
by Jess Haines
Shiarra Waynest's detective work was dangerous enough when her client base was strictly mortal. But ailing finances have forced her to accept a lucrative case that could save her firm - if it doesn't kill her first. Shiarra has signed on to work for a high-level mage to recover an ancient artifact owned by one of New York's most powerful vampires. As soon as Shiarra meets sexy, mesmerizing vamp Alec Royce, she knows her assignment is even more complicated than she thought. With a clandestine anti-Other group trying to recruit her, and magi being eliminated, Shiarra needs back-up and enlists her ex-boyfriend - a werewolf whose non-furry form is disarmingly appealing - and a nerdy mage with surprising talents. But it may not be enough. In a city where the undead roam, magic rules, and even the Others aren't always what they seem, Shiarra has just become the secret weapon in a battle between good and evil - whether she likes it or not...
I got this one when it was a freebie, but haven't gotten around to reading it. It looks like it is right up my alley and so I don't know why I haven't dove in yet. Must read soon!

So any books that baffle you as to why you haven't gotten around to it?

  2. I've had this one on my list forever too Melissa! I've heard such great things, and like you, have no idea why I haven't started it yet other than to say I need more hours in the day so I can read ALL THE BOOKS!

  4. Melissa, I have lots of books I gotten in giveaways and still haven't gotten around to reading it. So many books, so little time. I need to make time for some Halloween reads this month.

  10. This looks awesome! Yeah, I have a whole host of books that I can honestly say I do a double take when I see them in my TBR, and I feel like kicking myself for not reading them yet. Probably biggest "WTF haven't I read that yet?!" lately is Misty Provencher's Cornerstone series.
