Trace of Fever by Lori Foster

Trace of Fever (Edge of Honor)From Goodreads:
Undercover mercenary Trace Rivers loves the adrenaline rush of a well-planned mission. First he'll earn the trust of corrupt businessman Murray Coburn, then gather the proof he needs to shut down the man's dirty smuggling operation. It's a perfect scheme—until Coburn's long-lost daughter saunters in with her own deadly plan for revenge.
With a smile like an angel and fire in her eyes, Priscilla Patterson isn't who she seems to be. But neither is the gorgeous bodyguard who ignites all her senses. Joining forces to plot Coburn's downfall, Priss and Trace must fight the undeniable heat between them. For one wrong move, one lingering embrace, will expose them to the wrath of a merciless opponent….
Trace Rivers... oh let me see... alpha male (check), passionate (check), sensitive to other's pain when it was a woman (check), loyal (check), determined to help all victims (check), animal lover (check), very smexy (double check). Oh yes... I do love to check him out. ;D I really did have fun with Trace and enjoyed his brand of smexyness (obviously). As with the first book, When You Dare, Trace is as swoon-worthy as Dare and you also get a bit more of a glance into their world and how all the men work together. We also get introduced to Jackson who we will see in the next and last installment, Savor the Danger which will be released next month.

I do also think I enjoyed Priscilla a bit more than I did Molly in the first book. She was more connected to her feelings and a bit more snarky. The story line made more sense and there were some very funny scenes in this book. Of course there is still the fast love at first lust/love as there was in the first book, but it works for these two as intense danger made them fall quickly. At least Priscilla does question falling in love so quickly in herself as well as in Trace, which shows she is sharp of wit.

Any more than that I will not say... *evil laugh* (oh, don't even try to look surprised!). I will say, though that I give this story 4 stars. And although I am quite skeptical about the next book (lets just say Jackson has a thing or two to prove to me yet), I am all ready for my next adventure with these smexy men! Oh and get this book today! It is the book's birthday! Go celebrate with Trace! :D

I received this ARC for review and no compensation for my review was given.

Books in this Series:

Oh this is such a good trailer... here it is again...

  1. Nooo, not the evil laugh again. Oh you ;) Why is everyone tempting me with Lori Foster these days. I am supposed to stay away from bookbuying for a little time

  2. Your evil laugh makes me really curious about the book ;) Trace sounds truly smexy -I cannot resist an alpha male who is not only sensitive to humans but to animals too!!

  3. I am about 1/3 done with these book! I am having a hard time with Priss's name but I am enjoying the book :)

Your evil with your evil laugh LOL

  4. I think every time I read your review of this Dare series I get more and more anxious to read them!

  5. I loved me some Trace:) These men are ridiculously hot, I can't wait to get to Jackson and Alani. I'm a fan of Alani, and I think it will be interesting to see how Jackson tries to wiggle his way into her life.

  6. Lori Foster...hmmm...evil laugh...we'll see...

  7. Evil laugh all you want! I've already read these! Ha!

Yes, I love Trace, and I thought his snarky back and forth with Priss was so fun.

And I think you will love Jackson. He has got a lot of great qualities to check off as well.

P.S. there will be another book after Jackson's... that is all I will say... *evil laugh*

  8. You liked the more snarky heroine better?? -- No! Doesn't sound like you. Aren't usually into the more sedate and prim protags???

  9. @Blodeuedd... you want the book... you need the book... ;)

@Misha... *evil laugh* Oh you will like Trace!

@Felicia... Me too... but then again, Priss didn't like it either! lol

@Savannah... You need the books... you want the books... ;)

@Jenny... I like Alani too and Jackson has a way to go for me to really like him. I'm not too worried...

    @anachronist... bwa ha ha!

@Missie... *sniff* How dare you evil laugh at my evil laugh! *shakes fist* You are more eviler than I! (yes, it's a word...)

@Stephanie... You are right... snark just isn't my thing... lol

  10. Another great hot review. ;) I love that video too! :) lol. Thank you!

  11. Yes, yes, yes... WIN.

and again... I freaking LOVE Lori Foster, so where is the downside here???

  12. With an evil laugh?!?! I'm sold...this book sounds smoldering ;) Fab review!
