This weeks questions are from Jen @ In the Closet With a Bibliophile
Well, I do make a sauce from mayo and soysauce to put on asparagus. I've actually converted people to eat that veggie with that sauce. Sorry no pics... no asparagus and no mayo right now.
2. In chapter 22 Aiode and her friends try to go and get their instruments replaced at the factory. There are a ton of different instruments there being made for the fairies, but man are they a fortune. Do any of you play any instruments? Have you ever played an instrument? If not, what would you play if you could?
I used to play flute, piccolo, organ and a tiny bit of guitar. I'd love to learn piano, guitar and the celtic harp.
3. Jason and the band are finally discovered by the elf (with the crazy long name) and Buttercake the freaking adorable unicorn who turns into something not so adorable. If you were a detective who would you choose for your magical accomplice?
A hell hound. What can I say? I love big mutts with bad reps. :) Although... the unicorn was pretty cool after it turned into a dragon.
4. The book ends on a happy but painful note. What do you think of the ending? Were you happy with the turn of events?
No I was not happy. Too many questions left to ponder. Guess I'll have to read the next book!
5. Tell us your favorite quote(s)/part(s) from the book!
I enjoyed visiting the faerie and the unicorns. I also loved the ending action. What can I say? I love dragons and I was glad she could be regrown. :) This was a fun book.

I also want to give a shout out to AimeeKay (my associate reviewer) that reviewed this book not too long ago HERE.
I am having a hard time thinking about that asparagus being yummy.. ;)
ReplyDeleteJust make sure the stalks are young.
DeleteAs always, a fun post. Not too sure about your mayo, soysauce and asparagus combo, my favourite at the moment is a crisps (chips?) and mayo sandwich.
ReplyDeleteTry eet! ;)
DeleteHmm that sauce for the asparagus sounds interesting. I am pretty much up for trying anything. I wouldlove to learn to play piano better. I know a little, but not much. I used to play by ear, but I do know how to read sheet music. Hell hound is a totally awesome accomplice!!
ReplyDeleteI used to play by ear until I started getting headaches... ba da dum dum *crash*
DeleteSorry, couldn't resist a bad joke...
A Hell hound would be a brilliant sidekick, able to sniff things out for you and fight when needed!
ReplyDeleteBig thanks to AimeeKay from me, too, she's been a big supporter of the Songs of Magic series!
I'd probably get the one that hides behind me... ;)
DeleteI totally make that sauce and eat it with broccoli. My family has termed it ” the broccoli sauce”. I grew up on it. That's hilarious. Didn't think anyone else knew of it's splendor, but it makes sense. ;)
ReplyDeleteYou are seriously musically inclined. The piccolo? Smashing! The Celtic harp would be so cool to play.
And for the record I can see his hotness, he's not always invisible. Yum and yum. I like hell hounds. I have a thing for the man and animal mix. Wait, are we talking shifter? I'm not into animals like that, LOL. I like rough men. Haha! That doesn't sound right.
Hm... I like that record and what you tried to admit... ;D
DeleteYeah, not my finest moment. LOL!
DeleteI LOVE asparagus all by it's lonesome. Well, I roast it with just olive oil, s & p. It's a delicious veggie! The sauce sounds very interesting. I am not a mayo fan but it is used in a lot of sauces. \
ReplyDeleteAren't you just a musician of all trades? :)
I wish...
DeleteMayo & soy sauce? That's interesting. I love asparagus roasted (just like Smash mention above :-)) but that sound stood too.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read this series yet but all these posts make it look like a lot of fun.
I think you'd really enjoy it.
DeleteI'm all curious about this ending now, and also slightly worried. JL can be hard on his characters, so I have no doubt he'll put them through the wringer before things get better for them. Happy Friday Melissa!
ReplyDeleteDon't worry, it just makes you want to read the next one...
DeleteMMMM-Asparagus is my favorite veggie..:) Ive never tried that type of sauce...I always just fry mine in olive oil...:)
ReplyDeletePS- Team Hell Hound
Woof!
DeleteI love asparagus but wonder how salty the sauce you make might be unless you use unsalted soy.
ReplyDeleteHell Hound! Good choice. No one would mess with you. And, I don't think you could get me to eat asparagus, but that sauce sounds yummy. could i put it in a burger? LOL
ReplyDeleteI only like asparagus grilled from Garlic Brothers. They do a great job with it. I don't like mayo but I do like thousand island so maybe I would like your sauce. Talented! I can't play anything. Hellhound! Great choice! I am also looking forward to the next book and I love unicorns.
ReplyDeleteThis series I have not read from JL, but I so want too. These post have given me some great insight on the books.
ReplyDeleteI am so gonna try that mayo and soy sauce combo ... even without the asparagus. Just by itself!
ReplyDeleteHellhound is a great choice, but I don't think they are very subtle. Might be pretty obvious in the human world! But I loved that part with the unicorn too! I love all the parts in the Fairy world. There are more in the next book. You need to read that one. If you had made the sauce and let me taste it before you told me it was mayo, I would have eaten it, now, never. Hate mayo.
ReplyDeleteBut, I eat asparagus, over roasted anyway. My kids do too!
