Silent Bloggy

It's me!

Sorry I've been silent and I miss visiting everyone's blog. A lot has happened. I admit I do have time for the blog but as a lot of you know that it can be stressful keeping it updated so I let it slide. My mom had a procedure and there was a complication but that was fixed (vague I know, but my mom is private). She has another problem but hopefully that one will be an easy fix as well. Please send lots of vibes, prayers or just positive thoughts please!

💓

I had yet to get monster pup spayed because of everything going on but it finally got done. She did well. Didn't have to use the cone of shame... until... it was almost healed! She suddenly decided it was a good thing to lick and it looked angry. She earned that cone of shame!
A very bad girl!
My big boy also had a problem. He has acute kidney failure. I started giving him Only Natural Kidney Support (not an affiliate link, just wanted to share the info). It seems to be working well and his numbers (except the creatine) seem to have gone back to normal. Not a cure by any means but it seems to have kept him stable and feeling good. I'm ecstatic about that!

A few other smaller things happened but it all just added up to me being absent from the blog for a bit. I'm going to try to get at least a couple of posts up. It might be a bit stressful but it feels good to talk to all of you!

I think I need a vacay! Anyone want to go?

Hope everything has gone well for everyone! I should be visiting shortly!

  3. You sound like you have your hands full!

Fonzi ended up with the cone and gated for 3 weeks after his neuter. No problem with the surgery site but he had some kind of contact reaction to the shaving of the area or the prep or maybe even the rugs at home. Poor fur babies.

I'm sending you all the positive thoughts to you and your mom Melissa.

    1. OMG she still has the Dumb and Dumber haircut on her belly (or that is what I call it! LOL). She was almost perfectly healed... that darn mutt. LOL At least it was only a short time at night. 3 weeks would have killed her, me and the big boy. LOL

  5. I hope all goes well with both your mom and your older dog. It is so hard when people you care about are in need/sick/not well/what have you.
And the cone of shame! I love it. They really do look so embarrassed when they have to wear them don't they?

    1. Yep, I know we have all been there. :(

She hated it and so did the big boy. Had to watch her closely during the day and use it at night. It freaked out the big boy. LOL

  6. Hopefully your mom is all better now. Those cones drive the dogs nuts but at least you didn't have to use it for long.

  9. Aww not the cone of shame! They were so close too! I'm glad your other dog is doing okay at the moment, but that's so scary!! I'm glad your mom is doing better - hopefully the small problem now will be easily fixed too! And yes, I could really use a vacay. :)

  13. Oh goodness, sounds like there has been an awful lot going on. Sometime you just have to prioritize and let some things go (like blogging) until things settle down. Looking forward to seeing more from you!

  14. I hope everything is starting to calm down. I completely understand how things can get in the way. Family issues must come first. I know I've been a little bit MIA for a bit too.

  18. Hello! Don't worry about being away from blogging... we all need time off every once in awhile. I hope your mom gets through all of her things with relative ease. Yay for your dog being nearly healed, but funny she had to endure the cone of shame. Mine were the same way... I think at the end it starts to itch as it heals, so they start paying attention to it. It's like when kids pick their scabs, I guess. Poor kitty! Glad what you're doing is helping improve his mood. <3

  20. I do hope your mom gets everything done and heals quickly! And I have memories( and not good ones) about my dog and a cone a very long time ago. We felt so sorry for her that we would cut away a lot of it and really ruin what good it was supposed to do. Hope your dog gets healed fast too! Welcome back!

Nice to see you back but don't worry about being gone for a bit. Life is what it is and when things calm down you can pick back up again. 🙂

  22. Well yay, though, for all of that. Glad the senior herd babe is doing well on the new food. It's amazing the changes that can make. Mom was taught how to do fluids for hers at one point and that helped, too.

    Aw naughty younger babe. smh

Lots of prayers for your mom!

    1. I actually didn't have to change his food too much. The product listed is a herbal med. It works for kitties too but I'm not sure how well. We don't have to do fluids right now, but I remember that procedure and it wasn't fun. :(

      Thanks!
