Well, since I was in a Gail Carriger mood...
First, she has no soul. Second, she's a spinster whose father is both Italian and dead. Third, she was rudely attacked by a vampire, breaking all standards of social etiquette.
Where to go from there? From bad to worse apparently, for Alexia accidentally kills the vampire - and then the appalling Lord Maccon (loud, messy, gorgeous, and werewolf) is sent by Queen Victoria to investigate.
With unexpected vampires appearing and expected vampires disappearing, everyone seems to believe Alexia responsible. Can she figure out what is actually happening to London's high society? Will her soulless ability to negate supernatural powers prove useful or just plain embarrassing? Finally, who is the real enemy, and do they have treacle tart?
Yep, have this one on the tbr, but haven't gotten to it yet. Am I the only one who hasn't read it yet? :)
So, what is the book waiting on you that makes you feel like you are the last person to have read it? ;)
OMG for me it's the Covenant series by Jennifer L. Armentrout! Everyone has read that series except me!ReplyDelete
Oh I've read that one although I'm falling behind with the last 2... :)Delete
The Chloe Neill series. I did the read-a-long for book 1 but never finished the rest. I got them for Christmas so maybe this year?ReplyDelete
I'm behind you then. That is one I have on my wishlist. I have #5 tho! LOLDelete
I haven't read the Covenant series either-we're not alone!ReplyDelete
I was thinking about the Vampire Academy series-so many people are talking about the movies but I've never even glanced at book one.
I haven't read that one either, so you aren't alone. :)Delete
I read the first book Melissa (and really enjoyed it) but I never made it to the remaining books. I fail. I love her sense of humor and she writes great characters, I'm just easily distracted by shiny new releases and never make it to books that have been out for a little while. Shame on me.ReplyDelete
I know what you mean. I'm the same way lately. LOLDelete
Oh, but you'll like Soulless, I know you will! Admittedly, the series DOES lose some steam later on, but the first book is extraordinary and extraordinarily funny. Pick it up soon, you won't regret it. :)ReplyDelete
Sweet! I can't wait to get to it. :)Delete
You must read it now!!!!ReplyDelete
Yes ma'am! :) I really want to!Delete
I am itching to read her new one, such great reviews. I enjoyed this one, but I wasn't head over heels for it. I don't know.... I will be watching for your review.ReplyDelete
I really hope you enjoy the YA! I can't wait to see what you think of that one.Delete
this series is so fun! I need to read the 4th book!ReplyDelete
Yay! Read it! It's great! :-)ReplyDelete
AFter reading and loving Etiquette and Espionage, the Parasol Protectorate series is also on my shelf (well e-shelf) and waiting to be devoured. Can't wait to hear what you think of Soulless!ReplyDelete
I am so glad I'm not the only one that's not read this one yet. I do need to get it, but well...you know. :) Thank you for joining in!ReplyDelete
Oh yes, you MUST read this! Especially since you enjoyed Etiquette and Espionage so much. I think this is a series you may really enjoy.ReplyDelete
Dude! Totally loved this series. In fact, I still need the last book to finish it off.ReplyDelete
