Hounded Read-A-Long Chpts. 1-5

Sign up and information HERE

1. Kevin Hearne had the most perfect beginning for this book: "There are many perks to living for twenty-one centuries, and formost among them is bearing witness to the rare birth of genius." If you were to live for centuries what do you think you would be excited to see?

I would have loved to have been there when what are mysteries to us were made. The pyramids, hearing philosophy being discovered and taught. Thoughts and inventions long lost to us because of the destruction of civilizations we never knew about. Pretty cool stuff. And yet... I would still crave anything new. I mean I can see that your perspective would (hopefully) be widened. Most of your blinders would have come off and you could see all people as having the same struggle over and over. I guess I'd be excited as Atticus was excited about anything new or novel. My guess is that is rare after a few centuries. :)

2. In the 2nd chapter we learn about the amulet and its protection powers! Do you think having met the Morrigan and heard about Aenghus Og that it will be enough to protect Atticus? I mean the Morrigan has a point about hot chicks coming after him and his defenses might be down! He is very male!

No, I don't think it is enough and neither did Atticus. He did think that it would take some of their advantage away and I think he was counting on their laziness for protection more than the amulet. However, poor guy... having to have no defenses against so many hot chicks... LOL

3. The literary world's coolest dog is introduced in this chapter! Did you love Oberon immediately? Show me a picture or describe the type of animal you would love to have as a talking companion! (Cat, Dog, Mouse, Sloth, Horse---what is your pick--pictures please)?

I love Irish Wolfhounds!! In fact, I've wanted one. :D So who do I want as a talking companion?
Those that follow this blog have already been introduced to him (especially in this post) and already know he sorta talks to me. He is quite proficient in communicating without words, so I'd be curious as to the convos we'd have if he had words. I mean other than what smexy female dog he just saw... or what is for dinner... ;D

4. In this chapter Flidais asked Atticus what his name is and then precedes to ask if anyone actually believes he is Greek? He says nobody pays attention to names here. Do you know what your name means and where it comes from? Or do you have a name you wish had? Let's talk names!

I know that my first name means honey bee. I tell everyone it is because I'm just so sweet! *cough* I also know the origins of my last name and what it means. However, I don't look like anyone else who shares my last name in my family. ;) What name do I wish I had? I have no idea. I mean would they know I was a sweet girl otherwise? *large cough* Excuse me...

5. We learn about Atticus' lawyers in this chapter, a rather unique combo! Without jumping ahead, would you hire a lawyer combination of two supernaturals who on the surface would appear to be natural enemies or at the very least two very Alpha attitudes? What would be the positives and negatives of that decision.

I would if I had the means and the need! They may be enemies but it also seems that right now they are using their gifts for a mutual benefit. So, I'd say the positive would be that you would have very different perspectives on a paranormal problem. The negative is that they would want you to follow their advice no matter what you thought. LOL

Thanks Felicia for those questions! If you are following along, the next set of questions for this book is scheduled for the 9th and this set is hosted at On a Book Bender!

    1. Well... you know... jewelry would be the LAST thing I would think of having to remove. ;D LOL I might have even thought it would look nice with all the "other" decorations. *giggles*

Btw, I'll tell the boy. Tell Tonks that it's not my fault you invited over someone who would bug her to no end. :D

Q1. I suppose world peace would be too much to hope for. I'd be excited to know that books are still actually being published.

Q4. A Spanish derivative of Theresa, I hate my name. My mother-in-law always says I look like a Lucy.

    1. I don't think we ever had world peace... even when the world was quite small in human eyes. :/

Oh and I would love to meet your talking hedgehog! So cool!

  3. You're right. It would be tiring to see people struggle with the same problems and mistakes over and over again. Kinda like watching a gerbil run on a wheel in his cage. I'd would want something new too.

  4. The Pyramids! Yes! I definitely would have loved to have been there to see how they were constructed. I just can't even imagine. And your dog? So ridiculously adorable I can hardly even deal with it. I love him.

    1. Aw... I don't know if I could tell the boy you think he is adorable. His head is big enough knowing that I feature him frequently on the blog. LOL

  5. Felicia has a point, you would remove any jewelry in their way and they probably would be none the wiser. You crafty little minx you!

I want to see the pyramids, now! Let alone watching them then. That would be pretty epic. Besides, imagine the list of name-dropping you'd be able to do. "Well, ya, me and the Huns invaded China together. That guy was NUUUUUUTS!"

And your pooch is adorable. Even from behind. LOL! Makes him look like a ladies man.

  8. HONEY BEE!!! *pounces*

We might need a new way to distinguish ourselves. Oh, I got it. I'll be the Queen Bee, and you can be a little worker bee. How about that? LOL

And are you sure you want your buddy to talk? I think he'd have some very choice words for you since you forced him to get rid of his goods.

  10. That picture of the dog is so funny - he looks like he's saying 'are you taking a picture of my bum?' or 'does my bum look big? how many pounds does the camera add'.
Wow, imagine being their for the original philosophers.
I suppose the only problem with being around for so long is that you also get caught up in a lot of bad stuff - like wars!

    1. I think he is saying... "Look at my handsome arse! LOOK!" Because that is exactly what it's like when he shows it off to me. LOL

So true about the wars. I think Atticus already discussed a couple.

  11. One of the cutest pups around but is he striking a pose? Teehee - I'm sure the smexy gals are fightin' over that handsome dude!

I would have loved to see the pyramids built and go into them! There's so many things I would've wanted to see, even day to day life anywhere would be fascinating. Just think of the things you could accomplish in all that time!

    Great answers, Honey Bee!

I know, it would be great in one way, but I could also see the downside to near immortality.

  18. Living for 21 centuries?! I'd be dang tired - would I even be moved by anything anymore? I suppose that's what the novel's about.

  19. Love the Honey Bee meaning of your name. And, one would hope, that after all those centuries, you'd be more aware of people and your blinders would come off!

  20. Love the meaning of your name! It's great! Dogs do managed to communicate with us don't they. Liked your answers.
