The Iron Queen (Iron Fey #3) by Julie Kagawa

The Iron Queen (Harlequin Teen)From Goodreads:
My name is Meghan Chase.
I thought it was over. That my time with the fey, the impossible choices I had to make, the sacrifices of those I loved, was behind me. But a storm is approaching, an army of Iron fey that will drag me back, kicking and screaming. Drag me away from the banished prince who's sworn to stand by my side. Drag me into the core of conflict so powerful, I'm not sure anyone can survive it.
This time, there will be no turning back.
Okay, my goal is to make this spoiler free. So, what can I say? Well, if you have read the other books in this series, you will be glad to know all your favorite main characters are back in this book. You are also introduced to some other great side characters in this story. There is tension, love, an impossible task, and a few laughs along the way. Meghan is a much stronger character than we have seen in the past and we even get to see a bit more of Ash and Puck's personalities shine through as well.

...and of course there is Grim. ;)

As to the rest. I just don't want to say too much. In fact, I don't want to say much at all except that those that are waiting for this book to finish out Megan's story in this series won't be disappointed. You will enjoy the ride as you have the other 2 books. For those that have yet to start this series, I say give it a try. It is a fun YA ride into the Nevernever and you won't be sorry. And I'm so happy to say that there will be at least one more book in this series. I can't wait for the Iron Knight!

I give this book 4 stars and if you haven't figured out yet... I recommend this book! What are you waiting for? Oh yea... the publishing date. It will be published soon... the 25th isn't that far way. So, preorder now! Go... we will wait...

I received this ebook from NetGalley and HarlequinTeen. No compensation for my review has been given.

  1. I love this review! You kept spoiler-free AND still have me wanting to go out and get the books to read ASAP (and then hop on Netgalley for the third)! If I only actually had the time to do it between these other reads right now ... :(

  6. Oh good, I'm so glad you liked this one as well! I just love this series, the characters I think are so well done and I'm dying to read the Iron Knight and get some of Ash's perspective:) I had a hard time writing my review for this one because it's difficult not to spoil! Great review Melissa!

  7. @Larissa... LOL I had one from Harper in my hands at the time. Plus, I have the little ad below, so you'd think I'd get that right. :P Thanks for the correction.

@Jenny I had a hard time too. I wanted to say, "you know the part when..." but couldn't! lol

  9. I've been avoiding reviews for TIQ because I don't want to be spoiled, but this is good.

So far it has been a fun YA ride, and I'm looking forward to see how it continues. And I'm totally in love with Ash.

  11. Is this the last, do you think, or is there more to come? Or will revealing that be too spoilery???

  12. I haven't read any of this series yet but I love the covers!! I think this is another series to go on my wishlist...love the spoiler free review! :)

  13. @Stephanie... no, it is widely known that this is Meghan's last story from her POV. The next is from Ash's POV. So, at least one more, but who knows after that?

Yes, it was hard to write a spoiler free review, but I knew that there were so many waiting for this one and didn't want it spoiled. :) Thanks for the compliments!

  14. I really enjoyed this one too. It is hard to not have any spoilers in the review. Were you pleased with the ending? I liked it but I know other reviewers were really upset by it. I'm excited for another book.

  17. Okay, shame on me. I have Iron King here and I have not read it yet. I wanted it so badly and want to dig in, but I have to get through my review books first and a few in the stack ahead of it. Oh this series sounds so amazing!

  18. Trust me when I say this book lives up to the hype. If you loved City of Glass, Mockingjay, Ink Exchange, the battles in Lord of the Rings than this book is for you. Just fair warning there will be intense sadness. Julie joins my top fey authors along Maggie Stiefvater, Melissa Marr, and Holly Black. The only reason this book did not get a 5 star is because I was so heart broken by the ending.
