On My Wishlist: Harry Potter and the Cursed Child by J. K. Rowling

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child
parts I & II
by J. K. Rowling, Jack Thorne, and John Tiffany
320 p.
Published: 7/31/16
Publisher: Scholastic
Based on an original new story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, a new play by Jack Thorne, is the first official Harry Potter story to be presented on stage. It will receive its world premiere in London’s West End on 30th July 2016
It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband, and father of three school-age children.
While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes darkness comes from unexpected places.
This is one of those... DUH! Of course I want the book NOW ones... :D

So what is on your wishlist this week?

  8. Agghhhh! Not at all sure about this one. Not a book I could otherwise see myself wanting BUT it is Harry Potter. Perhaps one I'll reserve at the library (I dread to think how long the list of people awaiting it might be) and then buy a copy if I like it.

  10. I'm curious to see how this goes. At the bookstore we had drama with ordering it because apparently they only want to sell in major mass quantities, which we can't afford (and we won't sell them all). But we ARE curious as to whether people will be wanting it. No one has asked to make sure it's in on time. Which is odd.

    1. Aw... that is too bad as I think indie bookstores would do better with this than big box stores... especially with the format.

  12. I do have this one on my wish list, but I'm a little apprehensive. I know Rowling had a hand in it, so I have to trust it will be good; however, I just loved how the series ended and I worry what this will do.
