Love in my world usually ended up with someone hearing “I smite thee!” as she was cursed to be some lame flower for the rest of her life.
For three years, Alexandria has lived among mortals—pretending to be like them and trying to forget the duty she'd been trained to fulfill as a child of a mortal and a demigod. At seventeen, she's pretty much accepted that she's a freak by mortal standards... and that she'll never be prepared for that duty.
According to her mother, that’s a good thing.
But as every descendent of the gods knows, Fate has a way of rearing her ugly head. A horrifying attack forces Alex to flee Miami and try to find her way back to the very place her mother had warned her she should never return—the Covenant. Every step that brings her closer to safety is one more step toward death… because she's being hunted by the very creatures she'd once trained to kill.
The daimons have found her.OMG! I was lucky enough to be able to get the early copy of this novella so I may let you all know that this is an amazing story. I really enjoyed it. For such a short book I was captivated by Alex and really got into who she was and how she got to be living as a human. The action comes quickly and doesn't let up. Doesn't even let up when the book ends. I do warn you that it does end quite abruptly, but luckily the first chapter of Half-Blood is included so you do have an ending to the novella. Of course, like any good novella does, it whets your appetite for more. And trust me... you will want more.
I give this novella 4 1/2 stars. I only took off a 1/2 a star because of the ending. Oh but you will want this novella and I suggest you go NOW and get it. Go! Be gone! Get it! You won't be sorry especially when Sept. 15th rolls around.
What are you doing here? Go!
I was given this ebook from Spencer Hill and no compensation for my review was given.
