Tell Me Something Tuesday: Rainy Day Projects

Tell Me Something Tuesday, a meme started by CambriaHebert, but now hosted on Rainy Day Ramblings. It is a chance to get to know your fellow bloggers by sharing fun stuff, discussions and more. Grab the question and post your answer on your blog and link up at Rainy Day Ramblings! Have fun!

This weeks question:
What do you spend your fun, rainy day money on besides books?

Is there something besides books? LOL

No, actually I do have other things. One is usually crafts. I love to craft. And for what I do depends on what I want to do... It might be simple sewing stuff, crochet, craft painting, jewelry or just something I want to see if I can replicate. I just love anything creative.

Some of my fave websites:
Sewing

Crochet

I was going to list more, but honestly the rest are all over the place. Those are the only consistent places I visit to figure out what I want to do in that category. Now go and find inspiration everywhere! :)

  1. Nope. Pretty much all of my rainy day money goes the way of books. Before spotify I used to spend a lot of money on music, but now I don't have to ;) ALSO--I tried to learn how to crochet, and if I never had to turn a corner, I could do it forever. But starting that second line . . . no bueno.

    1. Easy... just go on Youtube to find out what you want to know on crochet... :D Music is a necessity and not a rainy day project. LOL

  2. Books and TV and magazines. I also am a bit of a gamer girl (I try to be careful with these because I tend to get fully sucked into games and can lose hours).

    1. Oh I try to stick to real simple games so I can take or leave them. I know I would get too into it if I let myself.

  3. I bought my first sewing machine (a cheap one till I decide if I am going to keep at it) for quilting. Yes I am going to try :)

    1. I have aunts on both sides that make quilts. I just put in my order. Let me know when I can do that with you... ;D

  4. I wish I was good at crafts Melissa, but I'm seriously craft challenged. You'd think my being mildly artistic might translate well to crafts, but you'd be wrong. I can't sew, crochet, put jewelry together or anything else. Fail. You'll have to share some of your projects with us sometime!

    1. I highly doubt you are craft challenged. I've seen your writing and your graphic design. Fail on trying to get me to think you are bereft of craft! LOL :D

    1. Oh I have an aunt like that. Cooking for me is a no. Although I do like to decorate cakes from time to time, but I'm not good at it. LOL

  6. Ooh, I wish I was creative enough to do crafts. Usually I bake a lot during the weekends - usually cookies or cake - and I love to sit back and just watch a good movie. Great post, Melissa - thanks for sharing.

  7. I love to do crafts and use to sell them when the kids were smaller, I did tole painting, made angel dolls and wicker baskets filled with pine cones, babies breath and mini lights at the holidays. Now I garden and read.

  8. I used to craft all the time before kids... jewelry, candles, glitter, all that, now I don't have time... one of these days! I would love to see some pictures of your crafts!

  9. I also love crafting, but I hardly ever get a chance to do it. I wish I had more time. Books kind of take over my free time (well, that and TV). I guess I also spend money on music shows, that's kind of a weakness of mine too. But nothing as bad as my bookish spending! :-)

  10. Oh I love crafting too! You know that thing you made me...my Kindle Paperwhite fits in it perfectly!!! You are a beautiful crafter!! I'll have to check out those craft sites. I am not a knitter or crocheter. I tried knitting. I cannot knit in the round. The concept is beyond my mind. I have some gorgeous yarns, but of course, they will sit until I take up my knitting needles again. And a class, lol.

  11. I really like to craft too, though I'm not that great at it. LOL I need to start scrapbooking more. I have random things on pinterest I really want to make too. I think DIY gifts are fun. I'm always into party planning too...I'm currently planning a baby shower for a friend (Tim Burton themed) and then I hope to do a Doctor Who party over the summer.

  13. I use to do a lot of crafts but nothing ever looked nice and I felt like I was wasting my money. Seriously, I have little talent for it. So I pretty much gave it up. I probably should scrapbook but I lost interest. I guess when I splurge on something other than books it's usually clothing or shoes (like really nice ones that are more of a special treat).
