Throwback Thursday: Halfway Hexed

Meme hosted by Melissa My World in Words and Pages. It's about books that are already on the shelves and are waiting to be read. Go to her website to join in!

My submission:

Halfway Hexed
(Southern Witch #3)
by Kimberly Frost
First, there are the local residents who form a scripture-spouting posse and kidnap Tammy to "defend" Duvall, Texas, against witchcraft. Next, someone saddles her with a secret package chock full of dangerous visions, just as the president of WAM-the World Association of Magic- arrives with his entourage to investigate her. And who worse to examine Tammy's entanglement with off-limits and drop-dead gorgeous wizard Bryn Lyons than his ex-girlfriend? Not to mention that the clash between the locals and the magical visitors leads to a series of unnatural disasters that may doom them all.
While the fate of the town hangs in the balance, one thing's certain: this would-be witch is ready to rumble, Texas style.
I won this book and have been told that I can read it as a standalone. However, after meeting the author, I do think that I will want the whole series. So, I'm waiting to get the first two (even by the library) and I do think I'll read them in order. Don't faint! :D

So any witchy tales on your tbr?

  1. I have Persephone Alcimedi to read, thanks to you! And this sounds lovely too, plus, it takes place in the South which is my favorite thing in the world.
    Thanks for sharing!

  2. Oh I really like this series, I can't wait for the next novel. I think it's easier with the others books first as it's really a series. You won't understand many things as it's the same characters and everything. Strange you were told you could read it before the others. Well you can, as for any books, it's just a little difficult.

    1. That is kind of how it was explained to me. I could but... :D I think that is why I want to read the whole series.

  4. Sounds like a fun book! That's very exciting you like the sound of it enough to want the whole series. I like reading most things in order, but series books that can stand-alone are also nice.

  7. Ooh this looks fun! I'm surprised you're going to read it in order, you always boldly go for the series books out of order. :-) Can't wait to hear what you think of the series once you've started it! I have one witchy read on my immediate TBR pile, the sequel to Born Wicked, Star Cursed. Hopefully I'll get to read it next week.

  9. I read the first book but it was AGES ago! I'm not sure if I got the 2nd one, but I think I was probably waiting for it to go down in price or something and now it's years later and I barely remember the first. It was a fun read though, I do remember that!
