Throwback Thursday

Meme hosted by Melissa My World in Words and Pages. It's about books that are already on the shelves and are waiting to be read. Go to her website to join in!

Well, since I was in a Gail Carriger mood...

Soulless (Parasol Protectorate #1)
First, she has no soul. Second, she's a spinster whose father is both Italian and dead. Third, she was rudely attacked by a vampire, breaking all standards of social etiquette.
Where to go from there? From bad to worse apparently, for Alexia accidentally kills the vampire - and then the appalling Lord Maccon (loud, messy, gorgeous, and werewolf) is sent by Queen Victoria to investigate.
With unexpected vampires appearing and expected vampires disappearing, everyone seems to believe Alexia responsible. Can she figure out what is actually happening to London's high society? Will her soulless ability to negate supernatural powers prove useful or just plain embarrassing? Finally, who is the real enemy, and do they have treacle tart?

Yep, have this one on the tbr, but haven't gotten to it yet. Am I the only one who hasn't read it yet? :)

So, what is the book waiting on you that makes you feel like you are the last person to have read it? ;)

  1. OMG for me it's the Covenant series by Jennifer L. Armentrout! Everyone has read that series except me!

  3. I haven't read the Covenant series either-we're not alone!

I was thinking about the Vampire Academy series-so many people are talking about the movies but I've never even glanced at book one.

  4. I read the first book Melissa (and really enjoyed it) but I never made it to the remaining books. I fail. I love her sense of humor and she writes great characters, I'm just easily distracted by shiny new releases and never make it to books that have been out for a little while. Shame on me.

  5. Oh, but you'll like Soulless, I know you will! Admittedly, the series DOES lose some steam later on, but the first book is extraordinary and extraordinarily funny. Pick it up soon, you won't regret it. :)
