What a month!

Ah, I've been silent again, but for good reason.

I had a whole post on what my dogs put me through (they are all fine now but seriously dogs...), my health, and Charlottesville. While I was writing it out I realized I really didn't want to talk about all of that. Since Charlottesville I've been angry and tired and let me just say it... racism is bad. How do some people not get that? Even though I was not surprised that violence has happened but what did surprise me is that it has become personal in a way I didn't expect. I won't reveal the specifics but I will state that I have no problems standing with my convictions but it did make me angry. I only wanted to state that since I KNOW I'm not the only one going through it and I want anyone out there to know they are not alone. So many more people are speaking out against racism. Racism has always been there, it will be there after this section in history but we can do what we can to lessen it's impact for future generations. I have no problem believing it will happen because so many people are saying no. It is good to see and hold onto that.

Now I'm switching gears (but know you just got a virtual hug from me)...

I just became a affiliate for Craftsy.

Paper Crafts Supplies

I have used this site for quite a while. I often buy patterns or videos from this site when they are on sale. I can now let you know so if you are interested you can get in on the sales. Yep, I'm trying to do more crafting. I'm also previewing a lot of videos for them so hopefully I'll get to share those as well for you. I've been a bit behind where I want to be due to personal issues but hopefully will get to writing those things down.

I am also getting more involved in dog nutrition and training. I have to write some reviews on this and will hopefully have them soon.

It will be a bit before I'm back into full swing, but thanks for sticking around! I hope I end up having something here you will enjoy.

Hope your day gets better (even if it is great, I want it to get even better!) since I think we all deserve it right now.

  2. {{hugs}}. Puppies, you love them even when they drive you crazy. I have a horse that has been putting me through a lot. For the past two years he has been injured more than he has been healthy (not serious injuries, but enough that I can't ride him very much). Then he gets sick. So yeah, I get it. I hope your days get better. Just remember you're not alone either. {{hugs}}

  4. Charlottesville was just appalling, but you're right, racism has always been there. We just need more people to stand up and say "no, we're not going to accept it." It's there - but it's the minority.

    1. I disagree about it being in the minority but I do agree that it is still far too few. I'm looking at history where we didn't have a lot of people saying "no" outnumbering the ones who hate until now... this early in the chaos. The counter protestors outnumbered the haters every time. It will grow... and I also believe this is a time where we have the opportunity to grow as a nation and I'm hoping we take it. ((HUGS))

    I've studied a lot about dog training and pet nutrition so I can't wait to heat your thoughts on the subject.

  7. Hugs to you, Melissa. I have been a bit absent this month as well, the blog is posting but I am not getting comments returned, too much going on. When September comes, things will be better. I am tempted by Craftsy, do they have cross stitch stuff? I am totally addicted to cross stitch again, and in honesty it has been my salvation this past year, it got me through some rough days after losing my mom. I have to be honest, I missed all of the Charlottesville drama as I went out of town and totally unplugged, I am glad I missed it, but sad for what happened.

      I get that it is fear, but it is also self created fear which I don't get.

    1. I really agree that we need compassion and empathy, but I also think we shouldn't tolerate hate as well.

  21. Charlottesville was nothing short of horrendous. I know to whom I point my finger at for causing this. You are right, racism has been around for a long time and for awhile I thought it was getting better. Nope. And one man ruins everything.

    I have been absent on and off since June 23rd. Three hospitalizations since then. But I think I am on the mend finally-knock wood! Amazing how fast you get behind on emails and visiting blogs. I hope all your issues have cleared up by now!

  24. I've been silent, too! I am just coming back from a nearly 2 month blogging/reading hiatus. It was the summer - kids home - losing my mind kind of thing - I think. And I have also been quite depressed with the current state of affairs. Happy to reconnect with you, though. xo
