Halloween!
I decided to make a wreath for my mom for Halloween. I had a old wreath I didn't like what I did and just adding various things to it. Some of it I had, some of it came from the dollar store (most of it actually), some was machine embroidery (the signs), and the main ribbon on the wreath I did buy at a discount (LOVE sales and coupons). It actually ended up costing very little but then again perhaps it looks that way. :) It is a hodgepodge of various elements although the theme is the same.
Okay, I know the lighting is bad, but it was the best I could get at the moment. As of writing the post, my mom has yet to put it up. We've had a lot of fires surrounding us which often brings up the weather so she didn't want to get it dirty. Um... it goes outside mom... it's gonna get dirty! LOL
Here are some close ups I did:
I do hope this makes some of it clearer. All signs were machine embroidered and the Trick or Treat sign is done in glow in the dark thread. The Trick or Treat disappears and all you are left with is the spider webs and spiders. I couldn't get a good photo of it. The skeleton hands are salad tongs I got at the dollar store and the cauldron's bubbles are clear beads I glued to it and the potion inside is glow in the dark paint. :)
Again I'm sorry for the bad fuzzy pics, but I didn't have a chance to get the pics taken when it was outside. :)
So, have you any crafty Halloween things done this year?
Oh so fun! You are so talented and that turned out great!
ReplyDeleteAw thanks! I think it is just a hodgepodge of stuff thrown together. LOL
Deletewe don't really celebrate here so I confess I haven't trhings like that but it's fun, great job
ReplyDeleteThanks! You should come to the US at this time and have fun! :)
DeleteNice! And it's so sweet you made it for your mom - although I did giggle over her worry about it getting dirty. :) That means she likes it, right? *ha*
ReplyDeleteI think that is why... but then again could it be a polite... "no way!" LOL ;) She does assure me that she likes it.
DeleteWe will take your rain. It's so dry here. My aunt used to work in a floral store and I learned from her. :)
ReplyDeleteVery nice :)
ReplyDeleteTY! :)
DeleteThat looks awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteAw thanks! :)
DeleteThat looked like total fun to make, and it's cute!
ReplyDeleteIt was fun throwing it together. :)
DeleteI love that!
ReplyDeleteHow cute! You always make me want to craft!
ReplyDeleteYou must... you must become one of us... ;)
DeleteSo FREAKING awesome :) :)
ReplyDeleteAw thanks! :)
Deleteoh this looks so cool, I wish I could make one like that!
ReplyDeleteNa, you want to make something better... ;D
DeleteWow, that is gorgeously scary!! I need one for more door, lol. I love the colors and the skeleton hands in it! :)
ReplyDeleteAw thanks! I couldn't resist getting those salad tongs. Would also be good to use as they were intended... LOL
DeleteI love it, and lol on the Mom thing Melissa!
ReplyDeleteThanks! And yea... she says she plans to put it up but didn't want to put it outside. I'm making her... as long as that is the only reason... LOL ;)
DeleteOh wow! That's awesome! My mom used to make all sorts of different things for the holidays. Once upon a time we had a "crow wreath" that was spooky and interlaced with crow feathers. I hope your mom likes it!
ReplyDeleteOh that sounds like a very cool wreath!!
DeleteI love this! I wish I was crafty but I just don't have the eye for it. My bestie made me an autumn wreath last year so I'm just reusing that one. I would love a Halloween specific decoration though!
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I have that eye either, but I plod on anyway. :) I bet that wreath your bestie made was beautiful.
DeleteI love it so much! <3

Aw thanks!
DeleteYou have the best craft projects. I am so not crafty. This is awesome! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteAw that is sweet!
DeleteOh how fun! A hodgepodge is good :D I love all the different elements! I made an autumn wreath but it's just leaves and a couple pumpkins. I need to do something more creative for Christmas, I think.
ReplyDeleteI think hodgepodge is a good word for it. LOL You need to post the Christmas one if you make it!
DeleteI LOVE that wreathe! I love Halloween, but I never decorate for it. I really should. I never do costume parties either. Thanks so much for sharing your wreathe.:-)

I did for a while and then kids sort of ruined it... so I get why my mom was reluctant to put it out. Oh so she says. LOL ;)
DeleteThe Wreath looks fabulous! There is so much going on in it, I don't know where to look!
