My submission this week:
Series: Dark Age Dawning #2
by Ellen Connor
Second in a stunning post-apocalyptic paranormal romance trilogy.
Three years of wandering the postapocalyptic wasteland has stripped Dr. Chris Welsh of hope. A harrowing loss drove him from his home, and he hasn't stopped moving-until he encounters Valle de Bravo, a haven of civilization amid the chaos of the Change. Soldiers take their orders from Rosa Cortez-the iron hand within a velvet glove. The last thing Rosa needs is a feral loner upsetting the town's tentative balance. However, for the good of her people, she lets Chris stay, and as bloodthirsty raiders strike again and again, Chris and Rosa battle hellhounds and dust pirates while also fighting desperate attraction. To save them, love must overcome the pain of the past-and build a future in this brutal Dark Age...
I still need to read #1 (yes, in order!) and this is also by the author's Anne Aguirre and Carrie Lofty. So you know this is going to be good.
So any books by an author(s) you know using another pen name on your tbr?
I also have several Ann Aguirre books on my TBR pile, including this one and Nightfall. She gets around! :-)
ReplyDeleteI do enjoy her writing! Glad she does get around. :)
DeleteThis was actually my favorite of the three. the darkest one perhaps, but I adored Rosa and Chris. Chris especially, to be honest.
ReplyDeleteI hope you'll get a chance to read these soon.
Oh sweet! Must get that first one then... :D
DeleteLoving the sound of hell hounds and dust pirates.
ReplyDeleteI know! I can't wait to see what the hell hounds are like. :)
DeleteI read the first one and enjoyed it, though I didn't love it (sadly). But I love Aguirre so I'm going to have to try out the next one...
ReplyDeleteHm.. still, as long as it is enjoyable, I'm good. :)
Deleteooh, I love Ann Aguirre!
ReplyDeleteMe too! :D
DeleteI didn't know Aguirre wrote under any other names.
ReplyDeleteI know she makes my wishlist longer. ;)
DeleteI read book 1 but never got to book 1 for some reason
ReplyDeleteWell, then you need #2! :)
DeleteI love how you said "in order"-I've lost a few friends because I have the same insistence! The cover is AMAZING! It's like Lara Croft 5.0. Just on the cover alone I would've picked it up.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy the premise and I definitely put this one on my list. I haven't ventured into the science fiction world before so I think this series will be a great start.
I have the Dragon Kin series on my TBR. The author name is GA Aiken but her actual name is Shelly Laurenston.
Thanks for such and interesting post! Love it๐
I am notorious for not reading in order, but for some genres I've found that it is good to do that. :)
DeleteI have the Dragon Kin on my wishlist.
Ah! I didn't know this was one of Ann's (and Carrie's) pen names! Fail. I of course adore Ann, and she always writes brilliant characters, so this is going on the list for sure:) Thanks Melissa!
ReplyDeleteYep! I agree. Must have that first one. :D
Deletenot sure I know this one but I"m curious. I didn't know it was Ann
ReplyDeleteOh I hope you get these!
DeleteSo many authors have pen names! LOL I don't have it yet, but I am dying to read The Cuckoo's Calling by Robert Gailbreth (or you know, J.K. Rowling)
ReplyDeleteMelissa this sounds like my kind of read. I need to check out the first, I have a feeling these need to be read in order. Eep, thanks for feeding my tbr pile!
ReplyDeleteI've had the first on my radar for awhile because I had Carrie Lofty on the blog as a guest awhile ago (last year? the year before?) and heard all about it. Sounds great!
