My submission this week:
His Fair Assassin #1
by Robin LaFevers
Read by: Erin Moon
Why be the sheep, when you can be the wolf?
Seventeen-year-old Ismae escapes from the brutality of an arranged marriage into the sanctuary of the convent of St. Mortain, where the sisters still serve the gods of old. Here she learns that the god of Death Himself has blessed her with dangerous gifts—and a violent destiny. If she chooses to stay at the convent, she will be trained as an assassin and serve as a handmaiden to Death. To claim her new life, she must destroy the lives of others.
Ismae's most important assignment takes her straight into the high court of Brittany—where she finds herself woefully under prepared—not only for the deadly games of intrigue and treason, but for the impossible choices she must make. For how can she deliver Death’s vengeance upon a target who, against her will, has stolen her heart?
I reviewed this one HERE when I read it (and I really need that next book!) so I already know I enjoyed it. I'm curious as to how it will sound in audio!
Yep, it's free from SYNC this week (if it's not up right away then just wait, it should be soon)! Just go to the SYNC website to get it. This one seems to be only open to those in US and Can.
So, any books that you've read and then tried on audio?
Note: Nope, I'm not affiliated in any way with SYNC or the publisher or the author... just like freebies and telling ya about them. :D
Booo sync, I want it too
ReplyDeleteIt's actually the fault of the publisher, not sync. :(
DeleteI love a good audio book, so I hope this one is solid on audio too. Happy Listening! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping for the same. :)
DeleteLOVE this series!! (Granted, it's only been two books but still!)
ReplyDeleteI STILL need to read that second one. I can't believe I missed it for review. :P
DeleteYou know I think I have this one too! Digging through my bajillion books to check.
ReplyDeleteAh! This is one YA I think you would like!
Deleteoh, yes, I loved this book so much both times I'd read it, and I'm totally curious to hear how it works on audio. Unfortunately, I can't download due to geographical restrictions but whatever. I'll just go hug my hardcover and be happy.
ReplyDeleteGimme an R2D2 hat, woman!
Oh boo! Maybe I'll make that hat and keep it hostage for the second book or something... bwa ha ha! ;)
DeleteLoved this book sooo much! I don't really listen to audiobooks much. I think I may have to give it a try to listen to it.
ReplyDeleteI want to try this one as well! :D
DeleteI loved Grave Mercy and Dark Triumph was bloody brilliant. I have never listened to an audio..the hours involved freak me out, since i read faster. Now if I had more than a 3 minute commute to work..i might seriously consider them!
ReplyDeleteI loved Grave Mercy!! I doubt I'll listen to the audio. I still have Dark Triumph to read. But I will be curious to see how you like it!
ReplyDeleteOh I bet this would be great on audio, though maybe a bit long. ;)
ReplyDeleteI NEED TO READ THIS MELISSA! I'm not a huge audio book person else I would run and get this from SYNC immediately, but it needs to get on my Kindle asap. I've read so many rave reviews for it and I just need to experience it and Dark Triumph for myself!
ReplyDeleteI have never listened to an audiobook. I know, it's a bit of a travesty. I would really like too, but I guess I'm worried my mind will wander too much.
ReplyDeleteI'm also excited to try this on audio. This and The Raven Boys and The Scorpio Races are all on audio for me, even though I've read them. I just want the experience of listening too. :-) Hope you enjoy!
