As I had said at the beginning of the month, I was going to list my Summer fun Reads
This month I'd suggest:
Even though I reviewed The Perilous Prophecy of Guard and Goddess... I actually suggest you read: The Strangely Beautiful Tale of Miss Percy Parker and The Darkly Luminous Fight for Persephone Parker (Strangely Beautiful) My past review for both: HERE
I'm also happy to report that I am actually almost done with my first ever reading challenge
...and several of these this month also counted toward:
Find all Anachronist's Summer Chick Lit Reviews so far HERE. The reviews she has here so far can also be found HERE.
I also wanted to announce winners!
Winner of:
Charla of Book Talk with Charla!
Shaiha of Shaiha's Ramblings
And don't forget the prequel to Touch of Frost by Jennifer Estep will be published tomorrow
PS... you may have noticed some changes in a few pictures on the blog. I thought I'd try to be a bit more cohesive with the pictures. There is a small blurb on the vintage pin up artist, Gil Elvgren on the Reviewer's page.
One last exciting thing...

Looking forward to Steampunk week!

Steampunk week sounds just lovely - as lovely as your button!
Oh AND congratulations to the winners *mutters grumpily*...
ReplyDeleteCongrats to the winner!
ReplyDeleteI'm really excited about Steampunk week! It's a new genre I've been exploring this year so really looking forwrad to your thoughts on it!
85 books already, WOW!
ReplyDeleteAnd I love the review for Luminous this month. Want, want, want.

Congratulations to all the winners!!! Blood Red Road is still calling to me :D
ReplyDelete@Misha...Just remember my warning about Possesson's ending... ;) Don't be scared, some have read more! *Looks at Savannah*
ReplyDelete@anachronist... sorry, fixed. Late night revisions, sleepy eyes... :P
@Mel... Oh I think you love it! I have been. :)
@Nic... I enjoyed that one so much. Oh you have me wanting so many Aussie authors, so it's mutual!
@animewookie... Oh I think you'd love it!
Wow, 85 books and here was me thinking I was doing well. Thanks for the recommendations and well done to all your winners.
ReplyDeleteHorray! I won a book! I had no idea! Sweet :) Also you been a very busy lady!
ReplyDeleteYay! Congrats on almost finishing your first reading challenge:) Woot! I adore the Percy Parker series, those I could read again and again, and thanks for the reminder about First Frost, I forgot that was releasing tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteI've heard varying reviews on Posession, so it sounds a bit iffy.
ReplyDeleteAlso, congratulations on getting up to 85 already! Man, you are kicking butt! I swear I read way more last year, I feel like I'm totally dragging and I'm up to 55 or something. I'm supposed to be to 100, HAHA! Guess I shouldn't have put my goal so high (at 200). Oh well, maybe next year. :D Remember summer in grade school, *sigh* nothing to slow us down, only R.I.S.E. reading or whatever it was called. Those were the good old days. :D

But my name is not on the list... meaning I didn't win nothing. *pouts*
ReplyDeleteLove the graphics. And congrats on doing so well on your challenges so far!
Love the button for Steampunk week! I'm gonna grab it up. Can't wait to see what you are planning. :)
@...Petty... you ARE doing well! You have been able to read the books on your shelf! I haven't yet!
ReplyDelete@Savannah... sent second e-mail...
@Jenny... I also loved the PP first 2 books! I had to remind myself so I can get it ASAP. :)
@Jen... You might enjoy Luminous more if you are looking for a YA. It's quite different! We didn't have summer reading, but we did have incentive in GS for reading. Book Worm and Reading Dragon. :) Can't believe I remembered that.
@Missie... ((HUGS)) I'll send you some of my review books... ;D lol Thanks for grabbing the graphic!
Where do you get these adorable images from?
ReplyDeleteYou have some interesting looking recommendations here. I'll have to go read your reviews of these books and see if any of them sound like something I would enjoy. I'm particularly curious about Luminous.
You've read 85 books so far? Amazing! I am nowhere near that. I hope I break 85 by the end of the year.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for steampunk week---will there be costumes and time travel? I heard Stuart Townsend is single wonder if we can get him involved :)
ReplyDeleteI didn't win ANYTHING... *tears*
ReplyDeleteWicked excited for Steampunk week!
Okay, when I first read the title of this post I thought it said end of Summer. I was like wo! When did that happen. ;) But never mind, the mind is on fast forward or something. lol.
ReplyDeleteSounds like another amazing month past for you. :)
Steampunk week! Awesome!!
