Throwback Thursday: Rotters

Meme hosted by Melissa My World in Words and Pages. It's about books that are already on the shelves and are waiting to be read. Go to her website to join in!

My submission this week:

by Daniel Kraus
Narrator: Kirby Heyborne
Grave-robbing. What kind of monster would do such a thing? It's true that Leonardo da Vinci did it, Shakespeare wrote about it, and the resurrection men of nineteenth-century Scotland practically made it an art. But none of this matters to Joey Crouch, a sixteen-year-old straight-A student living in Chicago with his single mom. For the most part, Joey's life is about playing the trumpet and avoiding the daily humiliations of high school.
Everything changes when Joey's mother dies in a tragic accident and he is sent to rural Iowa to live with the father he has never known, a strange, solitary man with unimaginable secrets. At first, Joey's father wants nothing to do with him, but once father and son come to terms with each other, Joey's life takes a turn both macabre and exhilarating.
Daniel Kraus's masterful plotting and unforgettable characters makeRotters a moving, terrifying, and unconventional epic about fathers and sons, complex family ties, taboos, and the ever-present specter of mortality.
Yep, another audio free from SYNC (if it's not up right away then just wait, it should be soon)! I've been wanting to read this one for a while and was so happy it was free starting today! Just so to the SYNC website to get it. This one seems to be only open to those in US and Can.

Any good zombie audios on your tbr?
Note: Nope, I'm not affiliated in any way with SYNC or the publisher or the author... just like freebies and telling ya about them. :D

  1. Sounds like an interesting read and what a fascinating cover.

  2. I love love love love that cover and title :)

  3. I would love to read this one and love the cover and tittle! Zombies!!!

  4. I've heard of this one but I haven't read it yet. Or listened to it. But is sounds really good!

  5. Hmmmm. Don't think this is the book for me Melissa! You know me and zombies. *shudders* I don't know why they freak me out so much that I can't really read about them (unless they're funny instead of scary), but they do, and I run away from all books with zombies in them like a little girl. *pats self on back for being awesome*

    1. Aww... you know that they are just people with a hankerin' for flesh. Poor zombies... LOL

For some reason I seem to be (well, so far) fine with it in book format. *shrugs*

  6. I don't really listen to much audiobooks and I never heard of this site. Will have to check it out.

  7. I didn't know this one but it's an intriguing cover!

  8. Oh sounds great. I am going to download my copy right now. Thanks so much for sharing!

  9. *sad face* booo should be open to all

  10. This one is SO creepy and definitely put my upchuck reflex into overdrive. Still, the author is really talented at crafting a story. Hope you enjoy! (Just don't eat anything while you listen, trust me :D).

  11. I love SYNC! I love zombies. I am happy I came to visit you today because I forgot about today's SYNC.
I hope its a really scary and gory zombie read. I want a good scary/gross zombie read.
I am posting a review tomorrow for a cool zombie book. Its more of a fun book though. I thought it was anyway..lolz..
Thanks for the Sync reminder :)

  12. Ooo, that's new to me. You need to read it to tell me what happens. :D

  13. Oh, wow, I've only dowloaded The Raven Boys (wish I hadn't, though, awful narrator alert!) and now I'm tempted to download this too. It sure sounds interesting, and the cover looks awesome.

  14. I think I have this one on my shelf somewhere. maybe...

  15. I got this one tonight and Frankenstein. Never read that one either. Let's see how many years it will take me to listen to them.
