Throwback Thursday: Paranormacly

Meme hosted by Melissa My World in Words and Pages. It's about books that are already on the shelves and are waiting to be read. Go to her website to join in!

This is a book I've wanted to read ever sense it first came out. I finally got a copy when it was on a good sale (sale is long past) but I haven't had time to read it. The book?

Paranormalcy
by Kiersten White
Evie's always thought of herself as a normal teenager, even though she works for the International Paranormal Containment Agency, her ex-boyfriend is a faerie, she's falling for a shape-shifter, and she's the only person who can see through paranormals' glamours.
But Evie's about to realize that she may very well be at the center of a dark faerie prophecy promising destruction to all paranormal creatures.
So much for normal.
So, what book you couldn't wait to get still sits on your shelves or ereader?

  1. I have this book on my shelf as well. It's been there a long time...I think it might have put down roots now and started and growing again! :-)

  4. This is actually one that I want to read but haven't made time for. I enjoyed the Mind Games by her though and that has bumped this up

  6. I really liked this series, it was pure cotton candy fun, and Evie is pretty funny. :-) Hope you enjoy it!

My e-reader is like a graveyard of sale books that I've been meaning to read in earnest for some time. Sigh.... I guess right now I'm wishing I had time to read Sea of Tranquility because I never got a chance to read it after downloading. One day it will happen!

  7. Oh, I actually loved Paranormalcy, but the other two books sucked more than I can say, and I kind of regret getting into it in the first place. I hope you'll feel differently, though.

  9. I actually really enjoyed Paranormalcy, but the sequel wasn't too good and while the conclusion to the trilogy was satisfactory, it was ultimately forgettable. Also, I found that the author's writing style began to grate on me over the years, but this book at any rate is really good. And if you don't mind too many unanswered questions, you can definitely leave it as a stand-alone and if you don't, I really hope you wind up loving the rest of the series. :)

  11. It seems like this is one series not really worth it, based on your comments...haha. However, I do own this one. I've had it for awhile now and I suppose I will get to it at some point!

  12. Oh, I loved Paranormalcy! Evie is a great character! And so is Lend. You have to find out what he is. Most creative character I've ever come across.

You know I tried everything possible to get an ARC of The Art of Wishing. Got turned down on NetGalley, Edelweiss, various giveaways. Finally I got it from Library Things Early Reviewers. I think the publisher knew what they were doing. Cause here it sits. Now I have tried to read it. But I just don't think it'll happen.

  14. I loved Supernaturally but this one fell a little flat for me. Still cute but not as fun as the first.

I don't even know where to begin on the list of MUST HAVE books that are still sitting on my shelf. lol
