Covenant Novels by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Damion (Covenant Novel #.05)
From Goodreads:
Love in my world usually ended up with someone hearing “I smite thee!” as she was cursed to be some lame flower for the rest of her life.
For three years, Alexandria has lived among mortals—pretending to be like them and trying to forget the duty she'd been trained to fulfill as a child of a mortal and a demigod. At seventeen, she's pretty much accepted that she's a freak by mortal standards... and that she'll never be prepared for that duty.
According to her mother, that’s a good thing.
But as every descendent of the gods knows, Fate has a way of rearing her ugly head. A horrifying attack forces Alex to flee Miami and try to find her way back to the very place her mother had warned her she should never return—the Covenant. Every step that brings her closer to safety is one more step toward death… because she's being hunted by the very creatures she'd once trained to kill.
The daimons have found her.
OMG! I was lucky enough to be able to get the early copy of this novella so I may let you all know that this is an amazing story. I really enjoyed it. For such a short book I was captivated by Alex and really got into who she was and how she got to be living as a human. The action comes quickly and doesn't let up. Doesn't even let up when the book ends. I do warn you that it does end quite abruptly, but luckily the first chapter of Half-Blood is included so you do have an ending to the novella. Of course, like any good novella does, it whets your appetite for more. And trust me... you will want more.

I give this novella 4 1/2 stars. I only took off a 1/2 a star because of the ending. Oh but you will want this novella and I suggest you go NOW and get it. Go! Be gone! Get it! You won't be sorry especially when Sept. 15th rolls around.

What are you doing here? Go!

I was given this ebook from Spencer Hill and no compensation for my review was given.

Half-Blood (A Covenant Novel)The ebook is FREE today! So go to Amazon to get Daimon: A Prequel to Half-Blood (Covenant) or wherever you get your ebooks. Edit: It is supposed to be free in certain places (was misinformed!). Sorry. You can download the PDF at Goodreads and at the Publisher's site for free at the moment. Amazon and B&N will charge .99 (but it is worth it..). Don't forget the first book is Half-Blood (A Covenant Novel) and will be published Sept. 15, 2011. The second book, Pure will be available in Spring of 2012. I can't wait!!

  14. I have a hard time with novellas. I just hate the fact that right as I'm getting into the story, it ends. Not fun!

But I can't complain about a free download, which I just grabbed thanks to you! Good to know more is coming!

  18. Daimon is the prequel to Half-Blood. We're introduced to the main character Alex (Alexandria) and her mom, a Hematoi (HEM-a-toy). Hematois descend from the unions of gods and mortals. Alex is a Half-Blood, a child of a Hematoi and mortal. She suppose to be training at the Covenant to become a Sentinel - somebody who hunts and kills Daimons (DEE-muns), but her mother took away one night ans still refuses to explain why, just that it's not safe there for them. What happens in Daimon proves that the world isn't any safer.
